The Upcoming Film Proud to be a Woman Will Address Uncomfortable Questions of Teenagers
Kolkata, 9 August, 2024: An upcoming film Proud to be a Woman is aimed at teenage girls providing answers to their many questions related to puberty, which they are hesitant to ask elders. The filming of Proud to be a Woman was completed in July 2024, and is in post-production. It is likely to be released in September 2024. The film is an adaptation of a book of the same title, authored by Anamika Kamboj. The film is produced by the author, Anamika Kamboj and presented by Canvasque Studio & Production and Power Publishers & Motion Pictures.
The film Proud to be a Woman is partly live action, partly animated. It tells the story of a 13-year girl, Shakti, who wants to grow up and become a footballer. The film focusses on her relation with her mother Vaani, who is a pilot, while seeking answers to some of her uncomfortable questions.
Proud to be a Woman was originally released as a full-color coffee table book, authored by Anamika Kamboj, who later decided to convert her book to a film. Produced by her, the film is directed by Sayan Biswas, and scripted by Anupriya Dutta, additional script by Rishav Ghosh. The creative producers of the film are Rishav Ghosh, Saakshi Khare; line producers: Pinaki Ghosh, Sayan Biswas. The animation past of the film is handled by Subhadeep Basu and Rajib Das; music by Navdeep Dwivedi and Arpita Sarkar. Sayan

After this film, the author wishes to write another book and film titled Hello Boys, to cover the puberty issues of boys.
